In a significant move to bolster the agricultural sector, the @Ministry of Agriculture, in collaboration with the National Agricultural Marketing Board (NAMBoard) and the Centre for Financial Inclusion (CFI), is set to conduct a comprehensive Fruits and Vegetables Production Training. The event is scheduled for the 26th and 27th of August 2024 at the Sipofaneni Regional Development Area (RDA), starting at 9:00 am each day.

This training session is aimed at equipping farmers with the latest knowledge and skills in various aspects of fruit and vegetable production. The workshop will cover essential topics such as market requirements, quality standards, harvesting techniques, and post-harvest management practices for vegetables. Attendees will also gain insights into safe chemical usage for pest and disease control, ensuring that their produce meets health and safety standards.

The training will not only focus on production techniques but also emphasize the importance of financial literacy and accurate record-keeping, which are critical for the profitability and sustainability of farming enterprises. Moreover, participants will explore integrated pest management strategies, production guidelines for conventional and baby vegetables, and specialized training on fruit production.

This initiative reflects the Ministry’s commitment to supporting local farmers by providing them with the necessary tools to improve their productivity and marketability. By fostering a deeper understanding of production standards and market dynamics, this training aims to enhance the competitiveness of Eswatini’s agricultural products in both local and international markets.

Farmers and agribusiness stakeholders are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to enhance their skills and knowledge. For more information or to register, interested participants can contact the Ministry of Agriculture.
